My mind is serving up a whole lot of shame. And a whole lot of cause and effect. I hear it say “you shouldn’t have eaten all those nitrates, you should have used a natural antiperspirant, you shouldn’t have drank all that wine, you should have tried harder to find your biological father.”

My mind even takes it to shame in my dreams. “You did this, therefore you got cancer…”
